The introduction of spot Bitcoin ETFs has cleared a significant legal hurdle as the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) recently announced that it will no longer manage the approval process for these ETFs. In a notice from November 15th, the CFTC’s Division of Clearing and Risk stated that authority over the approval will now lie with the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC).<\/p>\n

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has given the green light for these options to be listed on exchanges such as the CBOE and NYSE, stating Nasdaq\u2019s involvement with iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) was a success.<\/p>\n
