In an encouraging step for global financial literacy, the organization My First Bitcoin (MFB) recently secured significant funding aimed at enhancing Bitcoin (BTC) education worldwide. This initiative showcases the growing recognition of the need for cryptocurrency education among diverse communities.<\/p>\n

<\/span>$1 Million Investment in Bitcoin Learning<\/span><\/h2>\n

On a recent Tuesday, My First Bitcoin revealed<\/a> its receipt of a transformational $1 million donation from Jack Dorsey\u2019s philanthropic endeavor, #startsmall. This grant empowers the non-profit to bolster its commitment to \u201cgrassroots Bitcoin education initiatives across the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Established in El Salvador in 2021, MFB, also known as Mi Primer Bitcoin, is dedicated to educating individuals about Bitcoin, offering various platforms including its unique Bitcoin Educators Unconference that connects enthusiasts and leading industry figures.<\/p>\n

The funding will expedite MFB’s efforts to develop and disseminate \u201cfree and open-source Bitcoin educational resources,\u201d enhancing tools like the Bitcoin Diploma, introductory courses, and teacher training workshops.<\/p>\n

In addition, it will facilitate the organization’s expansion of digital platforms, notably its Online School and Community hub, making resources more accessible to learners around the world.<\/p>\n

Since its launch, the BTC Diploma program has become a beacon for BTC education, covering essential topics like the evolution of fiat money and Bitcoin’s significance as a revolutionary asset.<\/p>\n

The program has achieved remarkable success, impacting tens of thousands of students in El Salvador over the last few years. Notably, the 2023 workbook has been translated into 23 languages, allowing it to reach students from South America to Asia.<\/p>\n

Collaborating with El Salvador\u2019s Ministry of Education, MFB plans to integrate the Bitcoin diploma curriculum into the national public education system by 2024, amplifying its impact.<\/p>\n

In 2023, MFB launched the Independent Bitcoin Educators Node Network, aiming to create an inclusive space for individuals passionate about advancing MFB\u2019s mission. This network consists of over 65 projects across more than 35 countries and operates as a self-governing initiative with ongoing support from MFB.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Promoting Transparent Bitcoin Education<\/span><\/h2>\n

Amidst challenges within the current education systems, MFB\u2019s Education Manifesto highlights that traditional models have often been manipulated and structured poorly. The organization advocates for Bitcoin education that is transparent, independent, impartial, and driven by community engagement.<\/p>\n

MFB regards #startsmall\u2019s grant as a pivotal advancement for independent BTC Education, advocating that it will significantly enhance their ability to \u201cserve the global audience more efficiently than ever.\u201d Their mission remains centered around community engagement and transparency.<\/p>\n

John Dennehy, the founder and Executive Director of MFB, highlighted that the essence of Bitcoin education is to equip students with critical thinking skills, rather than to impose ideologies. He underscored the potential risks associated with funding that comes with specific motives.<\/p>\n

Dennehy remarked that \u201cthe subtle influence of external funding has negatively impacted traditional education; thus, it is crucial to construct alternative frameworks in Bitcoin education to harness its true potential.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arnold Hubach, MFB\u2019s Director of Communications, emphasized the importance of open-source principles in both currency and education, stating, \u201cAs we’ve witnessed a surge in demand for our educational resources globally, we are resolute in our mission to support everyone engaged in the Bitcoin ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded that this funding will empower MFB to \u201cstrategize for the future while continuing to be the primary source of complimentary educational resources.\u201d<\/p>\n
