Strive Announces Major Bitcoin Acquisition<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a significant move within the cryptocurrency sector, Strive has acquired 6,182 Bitcoin (BTC), marking its largest single-purchase transaction to date. This bold step has increased the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 43,000 BTC.<\/p>\n

The purchase occurred between October 17 and 23, while its competitor, Strategy, did not make any acquisitions during that period. The total sum for Strive’s transaction was approximately $511.4 million, which translates to an average purchase price of $82,732 per Bitcoin, inclusive of transaction fees.<\/p>\n

Strive’s significant investment contributes to a cumulative total of around $3.8 billion for its Bitcoin holdings. As of October 23, the fair market value of these assets was reported at about $3.5 billion, indicating that the average cost per Bitcoin in Strive’s portfolio stands at $87,785. This discrepancy means that fluctuations in Bitcoin’s market price could lead to substantial gains or losses affecting the company’s balance sheet.<\/p>\n

To facilitate further Bitcoin purchases, Strive has launched a $1 billion program funded through the sale of preferred shares, branded as SATS. Offering a cumulative annual dividend of 15% at a stated value of $100, Strive’s initial public offering sold 7 million shares at $90 each, netting around $630 million in gross proceeds. The raised funds are earmarked for general corporate uses and additional Bitcoin acquisitions.<\/p>\n

However, the high dividend commitments may create future cash flow challenges for the company. Should the new Bitcoin purchases underperform, this could heighten financial risks for investors.<\/p>\n

With 43,000 BTC, Strive is now one of the leading publicly traded Bitcoin reserve companies. To further solidify its position, it will need to acquire an additional 515 BTC to surpass Twenty One Capital and an extra 1,001 BTC beyond that to outpace Metaplanet.<\/p>\n
