Trump&#8217;s comments followed a report by the <strong>FBI<\/strong> confirming that North Korea was linked to the breach.<\/p>\n<p>During a Halloween event at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on October 31, Trump stated, \u201cWe\u2019re learning about the incident. I\u2019m not worried. We don\u2019t know if it\u2019s North Korea, but if it is, we\u2019ll discuss it with North Korea.\u201d His remarks came in response to questions regarding the FBI&#8217;s accusations against North Korean hackers.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"FBIs_Accusations_and_Impact\"><\/span>FBI&#8217;s Accusations and Impact<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The FBI officially announced on the same day that the attack on Binance, which occurred on October 29, was executed by a hacker group identified as <strong>TraderTraitor<\/strong>, believed to have ties to North Korea. The agency detailed that the stolen assets were primarily converted into <strong>Ethereum (ETH)<\/strong> and possibly laundered through decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms.<\/p>\n<p>In light of the breach, the U.S. Secret Service and the IRS&#8217;s Criminal Investigations Unit have urged cryptocurrency firms to block transactions associated with the wallets linked to the attackers. This proactive measure aims to mitigate the impact of the stolen funds.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Binances_Response_and_Recovery_Efforts\"><\/span>Binance&#8217;s Response and Recovery Efforts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In response to the cyberattack, Binance has initiated a recovery plan to compensate affected users. As of November 1, the exchange announced that it successfully replaced 95% of the stolen cryptocurrency assets using its own resources.
