In a remarkable initiative to combat the devastating impact of COVID-19, blockchain pioneers Vitalik Buterin and Sandeep Nailwal have teamed up with the India-based crypto fund Crypto Relief. Together, they have pledged a whopping $100 million to critical areas, including vital medical infrastructure and COVID-19 research. Update: After making its impact in India through emergency humanitarian relief and pandemic prevention work during COVID, as declared last year India\u2019s CryptoRelief fund started by Vitalik Buterin and Sandeep Nailwal is now focused more 1\/n<\/p>\n

Their contribution includes $90 million in USD Coin from Crypto Relief, combined with Buterin\u2019s personal contribution of $10 million. The funds will be appropriately utilized to address the urgent requirements of the Indian healthcare system.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Blockchain Experts Unite to Fight COVID-19 in India<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Crypto Relief, a community-driven fund that works towards providing financial aid in India during the COVID-19 pandemic, has found support from blockchain experts Buterin and Nailwal. The trio is embarking on an unprecedented mission to tackle the virus\u2019s detrimental effects and aid in the development of new medical technologies in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a Twitter post, the Ethereum co-founder stressed the need for a comprehensive, global solution that can not only combat the current COVID-19 crisis but also prevent future pandemics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year CryptoRelief led by Sandeep Nailwal allocated $100m to Covid research projects I wanted to fund. Sandeep and I discussed and jointly concluded these and other projects are high-impact and need follow-through grants. Hence we decided to put $100m more to these projects<\/p>\n

The research focuses mainly on understanding and addressing COVID-19\u2019s airborne transmission by developing advanced medical equipment. Furthermore, the initiative aims to prioritize research on the long-term effects of COVID-19, commonly known as \u201cLong COVID.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

With this concerted effort, Buterin, Nailwal, and their partners aim to make significant progress in tackling the pandemic\u2019s immediate challenges, contributing to long-term solutions that will help mitigate its impact on India and potential future outbreaks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Blockchain: Buterin\u2019s Continuing Philanthropic Endeavors<\/strong><\/h3>\n
