Catalyzing the African Blockchain Movement

The Hedera Africa Hackathon 2025, presented by the Hashgraph Association alongside the Exponential Science Foundation, aims to be a cornerstone in Africa’s Blockchain Innovation landscape. From August 1 to September 30, participants will engage in both physical and virtual hackathons across more than 20 prominent African cities: from Johannesburg and Kigali to Algiers and Nairobi. With an incredible US$1 million prize pool, our mission is to mobilize over 10,000 innovators, developers, and entrepreneurs to create decentralized applications that address pressing challenges in various sectors including finance, health, sustainability, and beyond. Participants can also access technical training, certificates, and mentorship opportunities from experienced Hedera professionals, leading them to develop practical Web3 solutions.

The hackathon is championed by the Hashgraph Switzerland Association, an organization dedicated to advancing the adoption of Hedera Hashgraph technology globally.
