Bitcoin Education Expands Globally—Join the Movement Now

A transformative shift is underway in the world of Bitcoin education as My First Bitcoin (MFB) announces its rebranding. This step marks an exciting evolution in the organization’s approach to facilitating BTC knowledge and resources on a global scale.

Expanding Bitcoin Education Worldwide

My First Bitcoin, originally rooted in El Salvador, is now stepping up to provide comprehensive Bitcoin education beyond its national borders. The initiative will offer educators worldwide essential tools and resources tailored for Bitcoin teaching.

Bitcoin Education Expands Globally—Join The Movement Now

Founded in 2021, MFB has dedicated itself to Bitcoin literacy, launching programs aimed at enlightening individuals about Bitcoin’s multiple dimensions. A notable highlight was the introduction of their BTC Diploma program early in 2022, designed to cover essential topics such as the history of Bitcoin and its economic implications.

With a reach exceeding 27,000 students primarily in El Salvador, MFB has successfully translated its educational materials into 23 languages, paving the way for a more universal application of Bitcoin knowledge across continents.

As part of this global transition, MFB is officially rebranding from its local name, Mi Primer Bitcoin, to strengthen its impact under the English iteration of the brand.

The rebranding process also involves a structural overhaul of the team with the integration of new roles to enhance operational efficiency. A significant change is the decision to eliminate its physical presence in El Salvador, transitioning to a fully remote setup.

“Our vision was always expansive, beginning with one student and evolving to serve millions globally. Now we aim to extend our reach to a potential audience of 8 billion,” stated John Dennehy, MFB’s founder.

Commitment to Empowering Educators

Despite its expanded focus, MFB remains committed to its foundational mission of advancing knowledge. Dennehy emphasized this pivot is less about direct instruction and more about empowering local educators and projects worldwide.

The refreshed focus is encapsulated in its aim to equip teachers with resources needed for initiating Bitcoin education in their communities. This includes fostering circular economies, organizing meetups, and supporting community aspiring builders.

Instead of hosting its weekly and monthly gatherings in El Salvador, MFB will empower local collectives to run these programs themselves. The organization has announced the conclusion of its Public School Program in El Salvador.

Looking forward, MFB is collaborating with the Ministry of Education in El Salvador to integrate the BTC diploma curriculum into the nation’s educational framework in 2024, aiming for a robust national understanding of Bitcoin.

In 2023, MFB also launched its Independent Bitcoin Educators Node Network, aiming to create a collaborative environment for community-driven Bitcoin education. With over 70 projects from 38 countries, this self-governing network aims to foster global collaboration.

“Our goal is to empower local communities to thrive and link them into a unified global movement. Together, we can elevate Bitcoin education to new heights,” Dennehy concluded.
