Ethereum is set to launch a significant network update named glamsterdam on the Sepolia testnet on October 6th, scheduled for 16:53 Turkish time. This update is a combination of the Amsterdam update at the execution layer and the Gloas update at the consensus layer.
The Ethereum Foundation disclosed that the activation will take place during epoch number 353,024 and slot number 11,296,768. Validators on the Sepolia testnet are required to upgrade both their execution and consensus layer software to specific versions to accommodate this update.

Enhancements to Block Generation
A key aspect of the Glamsterdam update involves redefining the block generation process. It introduces a system known as ePBS, which separates the roles of validators who propose blocks from the structures responsible for preparing them. This change aims to enhance the reliability and efficiency of block production.
Additionally, the update will implement block-level access lists, which will identify in advance the Ethereum data transactions expected to be affected. This feature is anticipated to assist in parallel processing of transactions and to potentially boost the Ethereum mainnet’s capacity in the future.
It is important to note that the October 6th update pertains exclusively to the Sepolia testnet. Ethereum holders do not need to take any action, and the timeline for deploying this update on the ethereum mainnet remains unconfirmed, pending the results from the testnet.
