Survey Shows Strong Support for Worldcoin’s Return Among Spanish Users

Amid regulatory scrutiny leading to a pause in Spain, a survey conducted by Worldcoin has revealed overwhelming support for the project’s comeback from nearly 90% of its Spanish users.

Majority Backs Worldcoin’s Return

Tools For Humanity announced a voluntary operational halt in Spain until the end of the year to allow an audit by BayLDA concerning GDPR compliance. The move came after the AEPD issued a precautionary measure in March regarding data processing in the Worldcoin Project.

Survey Shows Strong Support For Worldcoin’s Return Among Spanish Users

Results from a recent survey of 21,000 verified World ID holders showed that a significant percentage believed in the potential of Worldcoin to enhance internet security. 87% of respondents expressed strong support for Worldcoin’s return to Spain.

Thomas Scott, TFH’s CLO, acknowledged the survey results but affirmed the decision to extend the pause in operations voluntarily.

Global Support and Compliance

TFH highlighted positive feedback globally, with surveys in countries like Peru, Mexico, and Colombia showing support for measures like proof of humanness to combat online fraud. The importance of discerning human-generated content online was emphasized in the survey results.

However, the Worldcoin project has faced regulatory challenges in various countries, including an enforcement notice from Hong Kong’s PCPD and scrutiny from Germany, Kenya, and France. The project’s price has seen a slight decline recently.
