What is GMX?
GMX is a decentralized trading platform that enables users to trade various cryptocurrencies, including BTC, ETH, and SOL, with leverage options of up to 100x. Users can execute trades directly from their own wallets, minimizing custodial risks. The platform operates across several networks, including Arbitrum, Avalanche, Botanix, and MegaETH, as of March 2026. Importantly, GMX does not require users to complete know Your Customer (KYC) processes.

Launched in September 2021 on the Arbitrum mainnet, GMX has positioned itself as a prominent player in the on-chain perpetual trading space. Supported by funding from the Avalanche Foundation, the Arbitrum Foundation, and Ava Labs, the platform has successfully raised around $10.5 million, initially securing $900K in private investment along with additional funding through an Arbitrum grant. The $GMX token not only serves to facilitate trading but also offers real utility by allowing holders to earn a share of the fees generated by the platform.
GMX Airdrop Details
As of now, GMX has not announced any upcoming token airdrop. The existing $GMX token is actively traded, and the platform offers incentive programs such as the MegaETH Terminal Points program and the GMX referral program.
Key Program Features:
- Allocation: Not yet disclosed; anticipated to be 2.5% of the MEGA supply from the mainnet campaign.
- Distribution Method: Points accumulation (MegaETH Terminal) and fee rebates through the referral program.
The MegaETH Terminal Points program rewards users based on their trading activities across all supported protocols, including GMX. Participants can earn points through criteria such as trading volume, positive realized profit and loss (PnL), and liquidity provision on GMX’s MegaETH deployment. Activating the MegaETH Terminal can boost weekly rewards, enhancing the likelihood of receiving MEGA tokens. Although specific rewards for accumulated points have not been defined, past activity on new chain deployments has shown promising results for early contributors.
