Understanding NEAR Protocol
NEAR Protocol is a sophisticated layer-1 blockchain designed for scalability and ease of use. It employs sharding technology to enhance transaction throughput while lowering costs. The platform facilitates seamless asset swaps among over 35 blockchains, eliminating the need for complex bridging processes and gas management. To date, NEAR Protocol has successfully raised more than $607 million in funding.

A key feature of NEAR Protocol is its approach to privacy and security, embodied in the introduction of Confidential Intents in February 2026. This innovative functionality allows transactions to occur within a NEAR private shard supported by Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), ensuring that transaction amounts and user identities remain confidential until finalized.
Details on NEAR Protocol Airdrop
The airdrop program known as [email protected] serves as an incentive linked to the expansion of Confidential Intents on the NEAR platform.
This program offers a limited supply of milestone tokens that can be converted 1:1 into NEAR tokens once certain on-chain conditions are satisfied: the total value locked (TVL) in Confidential Intents reaches $70 million, and the NEAR token price remains at or above $3.33 VWAP for three consecutive days.
As of now, the TVL is approximately $20 million, allowing new participants to join and be eligible for the ongoing program.
- Allocation: 333,333 [email protected] milestone tokens (Drop 1)
- Distribution Method: Based on an on-chain activity score that factors in confidential balances over time and swap activity
- TGE Date: Activated by meeting both milestones of $70M TVL and NEAR price at least $3.33 VWAP for three consecutive days
- Vesting Schedule: Tokens are non-transferable until both the price and TVL conditions are met, at which point they convert to NEAR on a 1:1 basis
Latest Update: The snapshot for airdrop eligibility has not been taken yet. Any activity from now until the $70M TVL condition is triggered will count towards your allocation for Drop 1.
To maximize your chances, the scoring system prioritizes sustained confidential balances held over time and recent swap activities. For instance, a consistent $100 balance held for two months will rank higher than a significant balance added shortly before the snapshot.
Looking ahead, Drop 2 is also being planned, with conditions set to promote even greater community engagement compared to Drop 1.
