Binance to Support Base Network Upgrade and Hard Fork
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has confirmed its intention to support an upcoming upgrade and hard fork on the Base network. In preparation for this significant event, the exchange has announced that it will temporarily halt deposits and withdrawals for tokens utilizing the Base network.
Temporary Suspension Details
According to the exchange, the suspension of token deposits and withdrawals will take effect on September 30, 2026, starting at approximately 8:00 PM. The actual upgrade and hard fork are scheduled to occur around 9:00 PM, just one hour later.

Trading Activity Unaffected
Binance clarified that this temporary halt will not impact trading activities on its platform. Users will still be able to trade tokens associated with the Base network during the upgrade period.
Technical Management by Binance
The exchange will handle all technical aspects related to the upgrade and hard fork, alleviating the need for users to take any precautionary actions. This support aims to ensure a smooth transition without inconveniencing users.
Post-Upgrade Review
after the upgrade is completed, Binance will monitor the stability of the Base network before reopening deposits and withdrawals. Users should note that there will be no separate announcements regarding the resumption of these services; they will be reinstated automatically following a stability assessment.
Overall, this upgrade and hard fork are part of routine enhancements to the network’s infrastructure, which typically aim to introduce new features or refine existing protocol rules.
