A significant event is set to take place today involving the DBR token, associated with the cross-chain transaction protocol, deBridge. According to data from DeFiLlama, the restrictions on approximately 618.3 million DBR tokens will be lifted, allowing these assets to become transferable.

The current value of these unlocked tokens is roughly $11.98 million, a figure that is subject to change based on the fluctuating price of DBR. While the total number of tokens being released remains constant, their dollar equivalent will vary.

This upcoming release constitutes about 6.18% of the overall supply of 10 billion dbr tokens. With the circulating supply estimated at approximately 5.93 billion, this percentage increases to around 10.43%.

Allocation Breakdown

The distribution of the unlocked tokens reveals a focused approach to maximizing utility. The largest portion, around 191.7 million DBR, is designated for ecosystem allocations. Additionally, core contributors will see approximately 133.3 million DBR unlocked, while strategic partners will receive 113.3 million. Community, launch, and foundation allocations will release about 83.3 million DBR each, and 13.3 million will be available from the validator share.

Future Token Releases

The project’s official structure outlines a systematic release of the remaining allocations over a three-year timeframe, scheduled quarterly. This organized approach aims to ensure a measured distribution of tokens into the market.

It is important to note that the unlocking of these tokens does not equate to the creation of new assets, nor does it guarantee an immediate sale of the approximately $12 million worth of DBR.
