Mark Yusko, a prominent investor and founder of Morgan Creek Capital Management, has made bold predictions regarding the future value of Bitcoin (BTC). He believes that over the next several years, Bitcoin could experience an increase in value by eight to ten times, potentially reaching a market capitalization of $15 trillion. This ambitious target comes as Yusko argues that Bitcoin could rival gold in the evolving landscape of global finance.
In a recent interview with the YouTube channel New Era Finance, Yusko pointed out that Bitcoin currently holds a market cap of around $2 trillion, suggesting substantial room for growth. He highlighted that the total market value of gold is approximately $30 trillion, with roughly $15 trillion serving as a store of monetary value. He posits that Bitcoin has the potential to carve out a similar niche in the financial system.

“I think bitcoin could easily become a $15 trillion asset,” Yusko stated, noting that such growth could occur within the next five to ten years. He emphasized a strong belief in this potential, even without a precise timeline.
Yusko also indicated that as governments start recognizing Bitcoin as a legitimate reserve asset, institutional adoption could surge. He suggested that central banks might eventually allocate a portion of their reserves to Bitcoin while maintaining their gold holdings.
Signs of a Bull Market?
Regarding Bitcoin’s short-term prospects, Yusko observed that the cryptocurrency appears to have shifted from a period of decline to a new accumulation phase. He mentioned that Bitcoin had formed a double bottom around $60,000, with increased trading volumes suggesting diminishing selling pressure.
Yusko pointed to the formation of higher lows and higher highs as signs that a new bull market might be on the horizon. However, he tempered expectations by stating that he does not foresee an immediate parabolic surge in Bitcoin’s price. Instead, he anticipates a gradual recovery followed by a strong upward movement post the next halving event in 2029.
He referenced network value models based on Metcalfe’s Law, which currently ascribe a fair value of approximately $105,000 to Bitcoin. With Bitcoin trading around $85,000, he argued that remaining below this fair value could present favorable accumulation opportunities for long-term investors.
Inflation: A Favorable Environment for Bitcoin?
One of the critical factors supporting Yusko’s bullish outlook on Bitcoin is the potential erosion of purchasing power in fiat currencies. He highlighted that roughly $10 trillion was created over the first 245 years following the founding of the United States, while a similar increase has occurred in just the last five years. This rapid monetary expansion has bolstered demand for scarce assets like gold and Bitcoin.
While gold has served as a store of value for centuries, Yusko is confident that Bitcoin can assume a similar role due to its limited supply and decentralized nature.
