Ripple’s Digital Dollar Joins the U.S. Banking System

Cross River Bank has officially announced a partnership with Ripple to adopt Ripple’s dollar-pegged stablecoin, RLUSD, into its banking operations. This integration aims to modernize payment processes, allowing customers greater flexibility beyond traditional banking methods.

The collaboration, revealed today, will enable Cross River to incorporate RLUSD into its Core Operating System. This means that customers will be able to perform stablecoin transactions through a unified API interface, eliminating the need for separate blockchain setups.

Enhanced Payment Capabilities

By integrating RLUSD, Cross River aims to facilitate seamless switching between US dollars and the stablecoin, in addition to supporting cross-border transactions and corporate treasury transfers. The bank’s platform will also include various payment methods, such as ACH transfers, standard bank transfers, and real-time payment options.

Speed and Efficiency on XRP Ledger

One of the notable advantages is the speed of transactions on the XRP Ledger, with Cross River reporting completion times of just three to five seconds. This partnership seeks to optimize intraday settlement for payment networks, addressing existing delays in transactions.

The integration signifies a significant step towards positioning Cross River as a leader in the evolving landscape of digital banking, where traditional methods are increasingly being supplemented by blockchain technology.
