Bitcoin Price Corrections: Analyzing Historical Trends and Current Indicators
With Bitcoin’s price showing volatility, a recent analysis by CryptoQuant has focused on the cryptocurrency’s price corrections during previous bull markets to assess potential declines in the current landscape. The analysis indicates that, while Bitcoin has seen a drop to around $80,404 from a peak of $87,027 on October 5, further levels of interest could emerge at around $74,000-$75,000.
Historical Correction Patterns
Using the Bitcoin Bull Cycle Price Corrections indicator, CryptoQuant evaluated how far Bitcoin retreated during its past bull runs. The following average corrections were identified:

- 2010-2011: 18.41%
- 2011-2013: 21.71%
- 2015-2017: 10.93%
- 2018-2021: 19.39%
- 2022-2025: 7.58%
The company noted a general average decline of 14.39% across these five cycles. However, certain periods experienced more pronounced pullbacks, and the recent bull cycle has shown less severe corrections compared to historical trends.
Current Analysis and Predictions
Recently, Bitcoin’s decline of about 7.61% aligns closely with the historical correction average of 7.58% observed from 2022 to 2025. In light of these patterns, CryptoQuant suggests that should the trend continue, a key reference point for potential stability would be the $74,500 mark. This figure represents a calculated target based on the average historical decline applied to Bitcoin’s recent peak.
Despite historical analysis indicating that recent corrections have been more modest, it is crucial to note that this does not guarantee Bitcoin will necessarily return to those lower levels. Analysts recommend that investors consider making gradual purchases around the $80,000 range and potentially increasing their buy-in if Bitcoin’s price dips to between $74,000 and $75,000.
