Despite the commendable qualities of his new server, Schwartz advises that nodes should not solely depend on a single hub, echoing XRPL’s foundational principle of distributed trust. This infrastructure aims to elevate XRPL’s performance while maintaining the network’s decentralized nature.

Technological Setup and Specifications

To actualize this vision, Schwartz opted for a formidable hardware configuration, featuring an AMD 9950X CPU complemented by 256GB of RAM. The storage includes a 2TB boot SATA SSD along with dual 2TB NVME SSDs configured in a software RAID 0 for optimal database performance. Running on Ubuntu LTE, this server is already operational in a New York City data center, synchronizing with the XRPL and contributing to the network’s connectivity during its ongoing stability tests.

A strategic allocation of the node slots is designed to prioritize connections for essential components and entities, while also enabling public access on a best-effort basis. This hybrid approach balances providing reliable service for mission-critical nodes while promoting broader participation within the network.

In the forthcoming weeks, the server will undergo rigorous stability assessments and hardening to ensure it can manage production-level activities effectively. Schwartz reassured that no disruptive procedures are planned unless absolutely necessary, ensuring that the network’s integrity remains intact during testing.
