Bitwise CEO Declares End of Cryptocurrency Bear Market
Hunter Horsley, the CEO of Bitwise Asset Management, has stated that the prolonged downturn in the cryptocurrency market has finally come to an end. He expressed optimism that Bitcoin (BTC) could reach new all-time highs by 2027 during a recent interview with CNBC.
Market Insights and Investor Behavior
In his assessment of the current cryptocurrency landscape, Horsley pointed out that many investors who were eager to sell during the downturn, which began at the end of last year, have already exited the market. He considers this a significant factor in alleviating the selling pressure that has weighed on crypto prices.

Horsley explained that with much of this pressure behind us, he expects to see improved price performance for various crypto assets in the near future. He noted the growing participation of institutional investors as a pivotal element contributing to market growth.
Institutional Engagement and Investment Tools
The Bitwise CEO highlighted the increase in both usage rates and revenue on numerous cryptocurrency platforms, indicating a steady expansion of the sector’s core activities. He acknowledged that access to cryptocurrencies has improved markedly, aided by the availability of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and other financial products. These instruments have allowed traditional investors easier entry into the crypto market.
According to Horsley, the growing popularity of these investment vehicles is accommodating for institutional involvement, which he sees as crucial for the development of the cryptocurrency sector.
Outlook for Bitcoin
While Horsley has not specified a target price for Bitcoin, he anticipates that its value could surge to unprecedented levels in the coming year. His predictions stem from a combination of factors, including diminished selling pressure, heightened institutional engagement, and improved access to crypto investment products. Yet, he cautioned that future price movements for Bitcoin remain contingent on overall market conditions.
